Search and Hatchings on Second Pass are kept deliberately low-key: there are no Search applications and no Searchco, and all characters who meet the XP requirement may impress a chromatic dragon. Because of their rarity, metallic dragons are allocated through the bidding process for feature characters, and female blueriders have an additional XP requirement.
Dragon creation is minimal, and you may choose your dragon’s name. Stand-only candidates are always accepted. Hatching details are decided in a game meeting, in which candidates may participate.
Characters up to 25 years of age may be Searched. After a Search visit, those chosen are invited to Stand by letter, and those who accept are taken to the Weyr a day or two before the eggs are due to Hatch.
Though clutches hatch at Azov Weyr, on-camera weyrling classes will live and be trained in the dragonriders’ area of Xanadu Town – a very different experience from weyrlinghood at the Weyr. Weyrling dragons age at the same time ratio as the rest of the game, and weyrlinghood usually ends when the dragon is about a year old.
